Boom Town!
Published 1 day ago → 4 comments
As many of you know, this weekend celebrates a big holiday in the good ol' U.S. of A. and that would be Independence Day-- July 4th-- the Fourth of July! Just to get everyone on the same page here, the 4th of July represents our independence from Great Britain and the date that we adopted the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Coincidentally enough, every time I explain the 4th to people...I'm reminded of John Cleese's "Letter to America" in which he writes for the Revocation of Independence. The letter is hysterical, but unfortunately-- as you will see from the link-- it's provided by Snopes.com who went ahead and crushed my heart by telling me it's actually not really from Mr. Cleese. Thanks again, Snopes. → read more…

The Craigslist Committee

My hiatus was a period of reflection and direction for the blog...but it was also a period of searching, nay-- scrambling, for a new place to live. You see, Brett and I have been in our current unit for about two years now and while it has worked out for us (sort of...) so far, we're ready for a change. Surprisingly, we're downsizing and we're not even empty-nesters or retirees! The downsize is okay with us because we don't need a ton of space, the unit is adorable and in a great location, and we're very excited to move in (which will happen at the end of July). → read more…

Reintroducing: Mo-Ho.com

Hello everyone! Welcome, welcome! Oh how I've missed the blogging world...This is going to be somewhat short and sweet, but I just wanted to say that I'm back from my hiatus with a clear focus in mind-- to keep on trucking. Coincidentally, my hiatus sort of had a reverse effect; I didn't come up with a new direction that I've never done before, rather I realized that I like what I do and other people seem to like it, too. I managed to delete some old posts, re-categorize some things and figure out what I like to write about. And! It only took me a few weeks to figure it all out! → read more…

A Brief Hiatus
Published 4 weeks ago → 15 comments
Ladies and gentleman, I say with restrained excitement that I will be taking a brief hiatus from writing for Morgan-Howard.com for what I like to call, "a period of reflection". As many of you have noticed, the website has taken a giant leap from the old style into a more exciting, unique setup and the next step is to take the content in the same direction. Don't get me wrong; I love writing about anything and everything that comes into this head of mine, but I do feel like I need to direct my thinking process into something a little more concise. This, my friends, is what I am currently contemplating and is the sole purpose of my hiatus. → read more…

The Flashy Girl from Flushing

I'm starting to realize that I could possibly be one of the few people in the world that actually enjoys watching The Nanny starring the vocally-unique star, Fran Drescher. But let me go back a bit by telling you when I first saw this show, I wasn't a fan of it and I simply couldn't get over her voice. I discovered this show about three years ago when the reruns were aired on Lifetime. The show originally aired from 1993-1999 in the form of six seasons and given my abilities on The Nanny trivia...I can safely say that I have probably seen around 80% of the episodes. I guess the most comforting thing that I can say is that if you can't stand her voice-- her laugh-- well, her in general, the show pokes a quite deal of fun at all of the above and she manages to throw a few punches against herself, too! → read more…

Strong Like Bull

So I don't know how any of you guys feel about horoscopes and astrological signs, but I think that they can be a lot of fun. Are they 100% accurate, eh...I'm not so sure about that. I know that some people really believe them, and to each their own, but I just use them for entertainment and fun and let me tell you-- they sure can be fun! There are so many different things that you can do with an astrological sign like predicting the horoscope, but you can also do personality descriptions based on the horoscope -- which I always find to be interesting because I know some people who fit their "astrological sign" perfectly, an example being myself. I am a Taurus-- the bull. → read more…

Out With the Old and in With the New!
Published 1 month ago → 16 comments
Hello m'loves! I'm sure you've already noticed, but... the site has received a brilliant make over, compliments of Brett! He spent a lot of time coming up with something completely new and different (much different than the old one) and I absolutely love it. It's strange because I know a lot of people are working on updating their sites right now and in the case of my site, Brett just said he was getting bored with the design and wanted to do something new. I love it! Oh, and I love him, too. ;)
Hopefully with the new site I can get some new creativity brewing for future posts. I have a whole bunch of ideas for what I'd like to do with future posts, but it just takes time to get those all crafted and I'm hoping I can find enough time to do them! I'm definitely going to work on doing some more crafty projects because there is an absence of creativity in my life. I'm also going to work on making some more playlists because that's something that I love to do and I've been introduced to some new bands in the process. → read more…

Introducing New Tunes to Old Jams

So here's the thing: I really, really wanted to try to pick a great selection of songs that were perfect for the Spring, but I just couldn't get them together. It's not just pulling a bunch of songs that I like, it's also making sure that they form a cohesive playlist and it was just too hard-- I gave up. But! To make up for my inability to do a purely Spring playlist, I decided to go with something that I hinted at in my Current Kicks for May. I have been looking for new music within the indie world and I'm coming up short; it seems as though there's a lull in the action in the indie rock scene and some new acts need to break out and not be so indie that people can have access to their music. I'm waiting for this to happen, but in the meantime, I have looked back into older music to find new inspiration. → read more…

My Current Kicks for May!
Published 1 month ago → 10 comments
Hello everyone! I hope that you're all having a wonderful May filled with laughter, love and just overall greatness. As many of you know, I celebrated my birthday on the 14th and it was wonderful. The festivities aren't over yet-- I have some little individual parties that are being thrown in my honor (otherwise known as lunch with friends that got delayed due to busy schedules). I'm surprised at how nice the weather has been so far in May! It rained all day on my birthday, which I kept telling everyone is good luck, but other than that it's been pretty nice. In case you were wondering-- yes! Liam did give me a birthday card for my birthday (haha-- we are such dorks. Brett found a birthday card with a picture of a Westie puppy on it and signed Liam's name to it.) Now that half of the May celebrations are over, it's a perfect time to share with you the items that I am kicking on this month and let me tell you-- this was tough! I was introduced to so many new things this month that I'm sort of mildly obsessed with, so I will have to just pick out my favorites and go with it! → read more…

Racking Up the Years
Published 2 months ago → 9 comments
First of all-- it's been forever since I've been on here to ramble about whatever is going on in this crazy head of mine. I've been trying to keep up with everything in life, but sometimes I get overwhelmed and have to just throw up my hands and say, "Okay, it's time for pajamas, the couch, and a movie." Now that I feel rested up and rejuvenated after a couple of hours of complete and total vegging out-- I am here to reflect on an event that happened this month. A big event, one of my favorite events of the year! It is....my birthday! Wahoo!!! → read more…
