Out of “The Loop”…and Under a State of Emergency!
Published 9 months ago → 8 comments
It's official: I have slacked lately as far as keeping up with the website is concerned! I have a good excuse though, there was a hurricane in Ohio! That excuse may seem as far fetched as, "the dog ate my homework", but honestly... the great state of Ohio took on Hurricane Ike last Sunday. Obviously, we didn't have anywhere close to the amount of damage that was done in Texas and the surrounding areas, but we were definitely taken by surprise when the National Weather Service issued that Ohio did indeed get hit by a Level 1 Hurricane. The highest winds were clocked in at 75 mph and the majority of the state was without power for several days and some areas were without power for a week. → read more…

Chick Flicks!

Generally speaking, I am not your average girly-girl…I’d say I’m a little more well-rounded. What I mean by this is that I love interior design, but I also love carpentry. I love nail polish, but I typically paint my nails black. I like shopping, but hate spending all day doing it. I can name off a list of fashion designers and then go on to list famous artists and then famous scientists. I love little surprises, but I hate the traditional roses on anniversaries and Valentine’s Day. Yadee yada yada…I don’t know how else to describe it other than I’m just not your average girl. Even though there is a distinction between myself and the average dame, I am right there along with most ultra-girls by saying that I love chick flicks, to a certain degree; I refuse to watch movies more than once that make me cry like a moron and thus you will not see any movies on my list like oh…say… “The Notebook”, and “Bambi” is also on this list, too. I can admit that I’m an easy crier and it’s not because I’m overly emotional it’s just that I get into movies and well, maybe I am just a bit emotional. → read more…

My Current Kicks for September!
Published 10 months ago → 7 comments
I can't believe that it's September already...where the hell has this summer gone?! The fact of the matter is that even though the summer has flown by in the blink of an eye, we must embrace the fact that fall is here and hopefully will stay around for awhile. The great thing about Ohio is that we have all four seasons, that's right ladies and gents-- all four seasons that are complete with hot weather in the summer, snow in the winter, leaves changing in the fall, and pretty weather (and lotsa allergies) in the spring. I think that fall is one my favorite times of the year because of all of the wonderful scents of pumpkin, cinnamon, and especially the crisp air that is infused with the somewhat funky smell of leaves. September is the time that I use to finish up all of my summer lovin' and get reacquainted with my fall love interests, which you will notice in my kicks for this month. → read more…
Music
Ladies 80’s
Published 10 months ago → 13 comments
I am proud to say that I am a product of the 80’s…even though I really didn’t get to experience much of it seeing as how I was born in the late 80’s. The cultural aspects of the time period are being recycled into modern times, specifically the fashion! My mom was shocked to see me come downstairs wearing leggings and a shirt dress which was similar to something she wore in the 80’s; ah…the style of the 80’s Ladies. I think another interesting quality about the fashion is that it really showed the influence that celebrities had over the scene, examples being Madonna, Pat Benatar, and Cindy Lauper. Those influential ladies are just the iceberg of the celeb-inspired garb worn in the 80’s and even sported today! I can tell that my fashion roots are starting to show and this blog is supposed to be about music! → read more…
